  1. Harlech Beach about a hours drive from the Bryn Glas house and well worth a day trip out for all the family, a wide stretch of golden sands run the length or Harlech, great for exploring the sand dunes or for a walk along the long beach front, a great day out for all the family. 
  2. Harlech Castle  crowns a sheer rocky crag overlooking the dunes and far below, the rugged peaks of Snowdonia rise as a backdrop. This is one of the most spectacular settings for any of Edward 1’s castles in North Wales. Which is part of the World Heritage site. 
  3. Ffestiniog and welsh highland railway, the oldest independent railway company in the world, established in 1832, the railway takes you on a 13.5 mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the salet quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the historic trains climb 700 feet from sea level to mountains, past lakes and waterfalls, clinging to the side of the mountains or even tunnelling through it.
